Join Us at the Christmas Charitable Campaign!

Riga, Latvia, December 1, 2015, 14:33 / Banking
For the ninth year in a row, the corporate charitable foundation ABLV Charitable Foundation is organising a Christmas charitable campaign, in which all members of the general public, who wish to support the Foundation’s objectives, are invited to make donations.

Foundation always treats donated sums of money with the utmost integrity and responsibility and scrupulously weigh up their expenditure under any of chosen programmes. During the year to come, ABLV Charitable Foundation will continue to provide support for the implementation of projects of public importance. This year, the charitable campaign will take place from 1 - 31 December. We invite you to donate funds to two programmes: “Let’s Help Them to Grow Up!” and “New Riga”.

Thanks to your great generosity during the 2014 Christmas campaign, next year the Foundation will also be able to help at least 80 children using the funds donated to the “Let’s Help Them to Hear!” programme. Therefore, we are not especially striving to attract funds for this programme during the course of the campaign this year. However, as always, you are kindly invited to make donations to this programme throughout the year, because as we know, every year about 100 children are born in Latvia who require quality hearing aids. You can read a report on the work done to date here.

For the fourth year in a row, under the auspices of the “Let’s Help Them to Grow Up!” programme, ABLV Charitable Foundation is supporting the development and social integration of socially vulnerable kids, giving children from poor and impoverished families, their parents, as well as children with long-term diseases, and families at social risk the opportunity to attend developmental and educational camps throughout Latvia. This year, the Foundation supported 27 camps at which 821 participants from all over Latvia acquired new skills and experience. You can read a report on the work done to date here.

As before, from its reserves the Foundation will double donations made during the campaign to the “Let’s Help Them to Grow Up!” programme.

Under the auspices of the “New Riga” programme, which is in the second year of its implementation, the ABLV Charitable Foundation attracts donations to support the establishment and functioning of the Latvian Museum of Contemporary Art, as well as other important landscaping projects in central Riga, encouraging the formation of an aesthetic cultural environment and giving society the opportunity to live in a safe and orderly environment. This year, the first project implemented under this programme with the support of the Foundation was a project conceived by the NGO “Elizabetes Park House Association”, under the auspices of which, nine adult lime trees were planted on Elizabetes Street. During the year to come, the Foundation plan to support an interactive fountain project, which will revitalise the familiar urban environment and enable any resident or guest of Riga to interact with the new object, creating an entirely new dialogue between the urban environment and the people who pass through it.

In particular, the Foundation focuses its attention on contemporary art, children and adolescents, the development of education and civic society, as well as civic improvement projects in the City of Riga.
