Citizenship in Malta

Riga, Latvia, July 8, 2014, 15:00 / Industry News

Since February 2014, the Republic of Malta has started the citizenship programme by investment for foreigners. Today, this programme is the only official EU programme that allows obtaining citizenship within such a short period of time — 6 to 24 months.

Having numerous advantages, citizenship in Malta allows dual citizenship, grants tax advantages and visa-free entry to over than 160 countries, ensures social securities, along with permanent residence in all EU states. Within this project, citizenship is granted to all family members, including a spouse, children under 26 years and parents above 55 years.

At present, the programme has limitations: it is expected that Maltese passports will be issued to 1 800 investors. General information about citizenship in Malta and main requirements are available here.

We would like to remind you that our subsidiary company, ABLV Corporate Services, SIA advises on obtaining residence permits and citizenship in Latvia, the UK, and Saint Kitts and Nevis.
