Aizkraukles Banka Acquires Paintings from Students of the Latvian Academy of Arts

Within the framework of the payment card promotion campaign "Palette of Success" Aizkraukles Banka has acquired 30 paintings from the students of the Latvian Academy of Arts with a view to presenting to the clients of the bank.

The 30 lucky recipients of those paintings will be the customers of the bank selected by raffle. The raffle shall be open to every customer of Aizkraukles Banka, who has made at least five purchases within the period of one month by means of a payment card. The promotion will last from 1st of July through 30th of September, and ten winners will be determined each month.

"Handing those paintings to the winning customers of the bank provides us with a splendid opportunity to support the young local talents and to promote the use of payment cards in payments for goods and services," Mr. Olegs Fils, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Aizkraukles Banka, emphasises.

All paintings acquired by Aizkraukles Banka are excellent pieces of contemporary art that share the values of the bank’s image — progressive, modern, sophisticated and unconventional bank.

"This is not the first time for our bank to encourage advanced and modern artists," Mr. Olegs Fils notes: "Aizkraukles Banka had contributed also to organising the concert of the avant-garde band of electronic music Massive Attack, which took place at Riga this June."

Aizkraukles Banka has been getting more and more involved in shaping the social life of Latvia over the past years and supporting the projects of social importance. During the last year 185 thousand lats were donated by Aizkraukles Banka for various undertakings by public organisations and social events.

Aizkraukles Banka is the sixth largest bank in Latvia according to the volume of assets as of the end of 2002. The balance of the bank as of 31 December 2002 was 175.22 million lats, whereas the loan portfolio equalled 40.58 million lats.s
